Interviewed by Derek Maki, CMAA
As I was leaving the conference this year , I thought about some of the stories I have heard over the years from Bob Burris, who was one of the founders of the MSADA 40 years ago. Bob is full of wisdom and has been a fixture at the conference year in and year out. Bob and his lovely wife enjoy meeting up with old friends and attending various functions including their favorite, the vendor raffle.
I thought it would be a nice idea to conduct a question and answer session with Bob so all of our AD's could get a little taste of the history of the MSADA. So here goes........................................................

PSAs Continue to Tell the Story
Over the past two years the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) and the National Federation of High School Activity Associations NFHS) have developed a series of public service announcements promoting the value of high school athletics in your local community.
Working with each state association and local radio stations, the radio announcements have been placed throughout the country for airing. Each series of announcements have been tailored to each specific state and give sponsorship credit to the respective state associations. To date the retail value of the radio ads has been placed at over $13,000,000.
A series of electronic and print media friendly ads have now been made available this spring to enhance school publications and websites. This is one way for us to continue reinforce the message of the value of education-based activities. Feel free to download any of these links to use in your programs, on your websites, or to share with any supporting businesses that will do likewise.
